This way to Charles bridge
Still so many people in here. The building in the back is Prague's Film and TV school "FAMU". And this street leads to Charles bridge.

Another one from Palladium
One more from Palladium shopping center which opened on Thursday. That is our hostess and a senior stylist Ludmila from Prague's elite hair salon Petra Mechurova. She made some amazing hair styles here. And their hair salon is just steps away from Palladium.
Looking from Palladium
Quite boring, staring at the street all the time. But what else can a fashion store figurine do? This is from the new Ann Christine store in Prague's Palladium, the very first one in the Czech Republic.
Is anybody of you from Germany and know Ann Christine?
And the second question, do anybody of you know DJ Ladida?

Palladium is officially opened
I'm cheating here now. But only for a couple of hours. I took this at 2 am after the first day of Prague's newest and definitely the best shopping center Palladium. This actually is the stage where the main program was before Palladium opened at 10 pm. They are dismantling it now. And the shopping center is huge. Way ahead of our expectations. I'll try to post a picture of our shop (well, not technically ours :) tomorrow or during the weekend.

Picturesque place to work at Zbraslav Castle
I think they do renovations here. Well, it really suits this place. It is at Zbraslav Castle. Its history goes to the 13th century and in this view, Zbraslav is part of Prague only for a while, it's been 33 years now.

Porsche in Prague series: At Ovocny trh square
Porsche in Prague. This time at Ovocny trh square. The entrance behind it is to Myslbek shopping gallery. The other entrance is to Na Prikopech street - this is right in the Prague's centre. Anyhow, Ovocny trh is quite a quiet place with a few "on the street" restaurants. There's also Stavovske theatre. And district court for Prague 1. And Charles university and Carolinum - this year's World Press Photo exhibition was in Carolinum. Well, Ovocny trh square is quite big.

The Environment - Blog Action Day
Prague DP's contribution to the Blog Action Day's theme: The Environment
There's one big thing in Prague when speaking about the environment. It is something that was unthinkable few years ago and is a common practice today: garbage separation. You can find those dustbins for various materials everywhere and people are actually using them. We had an informative campaign in Prague and also a TV spots - with people making excuses they don't want to separate garbage because it is so far to those dustbins... and then the camera slides to the side showing those dustbins just steps away, and so on. They don't air those ads now, they are not needed. Now, Prague can move on to another environmentalish challenge.
See who else is writing about the enviroment.

Help me find the best
It was a sunny weekend in Prague. Vltava river was full of those boats. And I decided to start preparing a Christmas gift... a calendar with photos from this blog. My only difficulty is to choose the photos. So if you have a tip on a photo on your mind, please let me know. You can comment here or at that photo post. I would really appreciate it :)

Camaro at Prague's Autogallery
Old Camaro at Prague's vintage cars gallery at Smichov. This is an older photo and the camaro is gone by now (or maybe only in deposit, who knows). They have a various old cars here and all of them are timeless. My personal favourite for today would be a Porsche 911 from the seventies :)
... and there is a great view at Vltava river behind the Gallery. It is very close to this picture.
... and the Gallery is almost facing a building with new studio type of flats. They are amazing! You can see them here.

Fountain at Kinskych square - the square with that pink tank
There was a Soviet tank at Kinskych square for many years. Then, in 1991 it was painted pink overnight. And then they took it away. The new dominant of Kinskych square is this fountain. Sometimes with a couple in love.
This is just a three tram stops from Charles bridge and two from Andel metro station. There is Svandovo theatre at Kinskych square, too. Actually both the tram and bus stations here were renamed from Kinskych square to Svandovo theatre.

Prague - Smichov
Tree behind the fence at Smichov. There is an old factory complex inside. Abandoned and waiting only for a demolition. I wonder why anybody haven't started any development project here yet. This place has a great position in Prague, very close to all kinds of mass transportation and very close to city circle road.

Black Cadillac STS in Prague
I have a lot of photos of cars in Prague streets and I have quite a lot of this Cadillac STS at various places (like this one at Flickr). I think this is the only new generation STS in Prague. Maybe they have one or two at a showroom but I doubt there really are more of them in Prague, even in the Czech Republic.
Few years ago Cadillac (or better to say its local dealer) entered the Czech market with an interesting campaign. They cooperated with Mountfield, company that sells gardening stuff (from the smallest tools to swimming pools), and they have about 100 Cadillac CTS' in prices for buying that garden stuff. You can imagine what kind of reputation Cadillac got in Czech Republic after that. It definitely was not a luxury, always on the technology edge kind of vehicle.
I just got invitation for two big Cadillac meetings in Europe. There's one in May (organized by German Cadillac club and Cadillac & LaSalle Club) and one at the end of August (in Kremsmunster) - both in Germany.
And a friend of mine bought Cadillac Escalade ESV few months ago... he pulls his 1968 Dodge Charger behind it. Well, he has more great cars :) Actually, I have his Charger in a photoset on Flickr, too. Just click here and find it.

Rebuilding Prague apartment
They are rebuilding this apartment opposite to our office. I must say this would be a really sweet flat. Great location in the centre of Prague, with balcony - look at the guy sitting here. And it would be very very expensive. And there's more. Albeit you won't have a view at Prague Castle (it's over the roof) you will have a view into the offices of a modeling agency residing here :)

Smichovske nadrazi train station in Prague
Although I had my way through Smichovske nadrazi station (bus and metro) every day since my 5th class at elementary school today was my first time seeing it from this perspective. Sure, it was a total coincidence. Actually, this isn't the main part of Smichovske nadrazi train station. The platforms are to the left where there's a bunch of other rails. And more to the left is the bus station and metro entrance. Even more to the left is Smichov's McDonald and just a little even more left is Vltava river. On the other side there's the new highway. It really speeds up driving through Prague. But you must be careful about your speed. They are evaluating the average speed you have over the whole section of this road and if you go faster you get the ticket. (FYI the speed limit is 70 km/h in here, that's about 44 mph ... isn't it interesting that conversion between km and miles is the same as the 1.6 crop factor on Canon cameras :)

So you were swimming? In the center of Prague?
Well, there is no chance to use this right in the center of Prague. In the old building full of offices. Unless he was diving in the nearby Vltava river. But still, this is strange. On Thursday there was a girl drinking her coffee right here sitting in this window. But she was gone seconds before I found my camera.

Theme day: Cemetery / Tombstone at Prague DP
Theme day for October: Cemetery / Tombstone
Picture I took three and a half years ago at Vrsovice cemetery. There are more cemeteries at this part of Prague. You take a tram and there is a cemetery at every stop. Well, not at every stop but there's a lot of them. It would be about three cemeteries nearby.
Enjoy (sounds strange speaking of cemeteries) the October Theme day all around the world:
